Dear friends and partners of the oceans,
undeniably, our oceans are our future on this planet and we must act now to protect them. The UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, starting in 2021, is a milestone for humankind to move the transformation in ocean research in a meaningful direction that is urgently needed for our oceans. To achieve this, we all have to work together.
We would like to invite all interested partners to an online preparatory meeting: on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 14:00 to 16:00h.
We would be pleased, if as many representatives as possible from business, science, society and culture, could participate in this meeting in order to form a large societal alliance for the visibility of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development and to jointly develop exhibits, initiatives and possibly further events.

Despite the corona pandemic, from today’s point of view, the trade fair boot in Düsseldorf will take place in compliance with the current regulations. First highlights, as well as our joint initiative „love your ocean“, has been announced at the press conference on November 4th. The sustainable initiative will be even bigger in 2021 and shall be equipped with exciting and interactive formats.
The Ocean Festival at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin will take place from August 20 – 22, 2021. We are looking for exciting and competent partners from business, science and society, as well as contributions for the stage from arts and culture.
We hope to see you on the screens on 16th November. Due to the current situation, the initially planned hybrid (real and online) event at the Zeiss Großplanetarium in Berlin has been changed to a pure online event. Many thanks to the Zeiss Großplanetarium Berlin for its great support.
